The Virtual Control Room
The virtual control room is the live patrol monitoring view in the Real-Link web portal. It shows all active rounds, checkpoint scan status and any incidents or failed attendances in real time.
What the control room shows
The virtual control room displays a table of all active and recent patrol rounds. For each round you can see:
- Round name and site
- Guard name
- Scheduled start and end times
- Total checkpoints on the route and how many have been scanned
- Round status: pending, in progress, completed or failed
- Whether the round is unplanned
Rounds with missed checkpoints or overdue status are highlighted so supervisors can identify issues immediately without needing to review each round individually.
Accessing the control room
Log in to the web portal and navigate to the Rounds or Control Room section. The view updates automatically as new scans arrive. No page refresh is needed.
Clients with portal access see a version of the patrol data for their site only. They can see whether rounds are in progress, completed or have had missed checkpoints. They do not see data from other clients' sites.
Round status indicators
- Pending — the round is scheduled but has not started yet
- In progress — the guard has started scanning checkpoints
- Completed — all checkpoints have been scanned within the required windows
- Failed or missed — one or more checkpoints were not scanned within the required window
